The Central Illinois Agency on Aging currently serves an area with 98,000 persons aged 60 or older, and has partnered with TCARE, Inc. to provide a technological solution for helping family caregivers and preventing their burnout. TCARE’s evidence-based approach reduces family caregiver burnout through precision-targeting and mapping of interventions in a proven technology platform. The platform is currently implemented in over 250+ organizations in 22 states and is impacting the lives of over 100,000 family caregivers.
“I feel that TCARE is very valuable,” says Mitch Forrest, Family Caregiver Information and Assistance Specialist. “It definitely fits with my experience helping caregivers and provided some new insights.”
Area Agencies on Aging focus on providing resources to local caregivers, including information such as available services in the area, individual counseling, support groups, and supplemental services. Now, Central Illinois Agency on Aging adds TCARE as a solution and is easily able to train new care managers to help provide these resources and eliminate caregiver burnout. In as few as six months after a TCARE intervention, 84% of caregivers report lower levels of stress and depression.
Other partners of TCARE include Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), Medicare Plans, Medicaid Managed LTSS plans, and state government agencies.
